I offer individual counselling, primarily face to face working. I sometimes work online also, if a client leaves the area or one or the other of us is away. Clients must be 18 or over.
I have around 20 years of experience working as a counsellor. During that time I have worked with a diverse client group in both the private and charitable sectors. In my experience, most people face challenging periods at some point in their lives, irrespective of financial, educational, age and cultural circumstances.
Sometimes we experience difficulties that are caused by events which are outside of our control, such as accidents, illness or bereavement. Or sometimes choices that we make, such as career or partner, do not turn out the way we hope or expect. This can lead to feelings of disillusionment, confusion or a sense of despair. With problems of this sort it is often not possible to speak with family or friends because there are complex feelings involved.
Are you feeling stuck, lost, demotivated or unfulfilled? Do you feel angry and irritable much of the time? Are you suffering with depression, sadness or anxiety? Are you having difficulty sleeping or socialising? Having the space to talk about and share your struggles can be the first step towards feeling better about yourself, finding your voice and getting your life back on track.
I like to offer an initial, no obligation telephone call. If you wish to go ahead with counselling we will schedule an assessment session where I can gather some background information and discuss how to proceed with counselling.
